His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem visited last Sunday the injured in the terrorist attack at the Greek Orthodox Church of St George in Hammoud, Al-Karak, Jordan.

His Beatitude was accompanied by Metropolitan Hesychios of Capitolias during visits to Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein Military Hospital and the Italian Hospital, where the injured were receiving medical treatment.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem prayed for the wounded, asking the Lord to grant them complete recovery, health and well-being.

Patriarch Theophilos III also officiated at the funeral service on Sunday morning for those who lost their lives in the attack.

The service took place at St George’s Church in Hammoud, Al-Karak, and was attended by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

Following the funeral, members of Jordan’s Hashemite Royal Family came in person to offer their condolences to Patriarch Theophilos III and the bereaved families.

Nine people were killed, and more than 30 others were injured in the terrorist attack on Friday, 23 October.

In a message sent on Friday evening, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel expressed his solidarity with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.
