His Beatitude THEOPHILOS III,
Patriarch of Jerusalem

Your Beatitude,

It was with profound sorrow that we received the news of the tragic terrorist attack at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George in Hammoud, Al-Karak, Jordan, which claimed seven lives and left many others injured.

This act of violence, which took the lives of innocent believers, stands in stark contradiction to the sacred gift of life and undermines the fundamental religious and human values of compassion, peace, and dignity.

In these moments of grief, we express our full fraternal solidarity with Your Beatitude, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and all those affected by this tragedy.

We pray to the Almighty God to rest in His peace the souls of the departed, to grant swift recovery to the injured and comfort to the bereaved families of the victims, as well as to the entire Orthodox community in Jordan, in these moments of profound suffering.

With fraternal love in Christ the Lord,

† DANIEL
Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church
