Three families with 19 children receive new homes for Pascha from Iași parish

Three struggling families from Iași, Romania, will spend Pascha in new homes thanks to the missionary priest Fr. Dan Damaschin and the Voice of Life association from the Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian at the Cuza Voda Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Iași.

Together, the three families have a total of 19 children.

Fr. Dan spoke about the families and their new homes on Trinitas Radio. “They have a stove, a bath, everything you need.”

However, only one house is yet connected to electricity. “We’re having a harder time with utilities,” Fr. Dan said.

The new homes are part of the Houses of Hope project. The beneficiaries this time are three large families: one with 8 children from Budești, and one family with 7 children and one with 4 from the village of Uricani.

The house in Budești was built with the help of the parish community, and the two in Uricani with the support of manufacturers of wooden houses in the Olt Valley.

“A lot of work has been done. Work continues and we hope to go further, to overcome this crisis. Maybe we’ll finish the other projects by the end of the year. We want to do about 10; that’s what we set out to do. It remains to be seen,” Fr. Dan said.

Through Houses of Hope, Fr. Dan and Voice of Life have built, bought, or repaired 60 houses, including the House of Life, a complex of 24 studios for pregnant women at risk of abortion, and the House of 7 Mothers, where 27 children and 11 mothers who have been abandoned by their families and society are housed.
