The President of the Romanian Senate Mircea Abrudean sent a congratulatory message to Patriarch Daniel on Wednesday, praising the Romanian Orthodox leader’s vision and describing the Church as “a source of hope” under his leadership.
In his message marking the Patriarch’s 75th birthday, Abrudean expressed the Senate’s appreciation for Patriarch Daniel’s pastoral ministry and reaffirmed his support for the Romanian Orthodox Church’s spiritual, educational and social mission.

On the blessed occasion of Your Beatitude’s birthday, allow me, both personally and on behalf of the Senate of Romania, to extend my warmest congratulations and deepest respect, gratitude and esteem, accompanied by my prayer that the Good Lord may grant you health, peace, strength for your ministry and many years, for the benefit of the Church and of the faithful Romanian people.
I wish to express my profound admiration for the fruitful work you carry out as Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Through Your Beatitude’s vision, discernment and dedication, the Romanian Orthodox Church continues to be a source of hope, a haven of consolation and a spiritual guide for all who seek truth, peace and communion in Christ.
I assure Your Beatitude of my highest esteem and of my steadfast support for the mission of the Romanian Orthodox Church, both in preserving and promoting its spiritual and traditional values and in its educational, moral and social work, which is so greatly needed in contemporary society.
