The Romanian Patriarchate received on Monday the Order of Cultural Merit, Grand Officer rank, conferred by the President of Romania during a solemn ceremony at the Cotroceni Palace.
The decoration was presented to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, who remarked that the award “represents an important sign of appreciation for the entire activity carried out by the Romanian Orthodox Church in promoting Christian Orthodox spiritual, cultural, and moral values.”
In the same ceremony, President Nicușor Dan awarded the Order of the Cross of Romania, Grand Collar rank, to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.

Your Eminences, Your Graces,
Honoured guests,
With humility and joy, we have received today the Order of Cultural Merit in the Rank of Grand Officer, conferred upon the Romanian Orthodox Church by the President of Romania.
The Order of Cultural Merit in the Rank of Grand Officer, the highest rank that can be awarded to an institution by the Romanian State, stands as an important sign of recognition for the entire activity carried out by the Romanian Orthodox Church in promoting the spiritual, cultural, and moral values of the Orthodox Christian faith.
In a world marked by numerous social, political, and economic crises, the cooperation between the Church and the institutions of the State—founded on mutual respect and effective dialogue—is essential for strengthening social peace and solidarity among people.
Therefore, Mr President, we wish to express our gratitude for this Order offered as a token of appreciation for the mission of the Romanian Orthodox Church. At the same time, we pray that God may pour out His blessing upon Romania, upon its leaders, and upon the entire Romanian people!

Παναγιώτατε,
Σεβασμιώτατοι και Θεοφιλέστατοι Άγιοι Πατέρες,
Εντιμότατο ακροατήριο, Μετά ταπεινώσεως και χαράς, εδέχθημεν σήμερον το Πολιτιστικό Παράσημον Αριστείου Βαθμού Μεγάλου Αξιωματού, ό επεδόθη εις την Ρουμανικήν Ορθόδοξον Εκκλησίαν υπό του Προέδρου της Ρουμανίας.
Πολιτιστικό Παράσημον Αριστείου Βαθμού Μεγάλου Αξιωματού, ο υψηλότερος βαθμός ός δύναται να απονεμηθή εις ιδρυματικόν φορέα του Ρουμανικού Κράτους, αποτελεί σημαντικόν σημείον τιμής και εκτιμήσεως διά το σύνολον της εκκλησιαστικής δραστηριότητος της Ρουμανικής Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας, η οποία συμβάλλει εις την προαγωγήν των πνευματικών, πολιτιστικών και ηθικών αξιών της Ορθοδόξου Χριστιανικής Παραδόσεως.
Εν τω πλαισίω μιας παγκοσμίου κοινωνίας επληγείσης υπό ποικίλας κρίσεις κοινωνικάς, πολιτικάς και οικονομικάς, η συνεργασία Εκκλησίας και Πολιτείας, εν πνεύματι αμοιβαίου σεβασμού και γόνιμου διαλόγου, αποβαίνει εκ των υψίστων αναγκών διά την ενίσχυσιν της κοινωνικής ειρήνης και της αλληλεγγύης μεταξύ των ανθρώπων.
Διό και εκφράζομεν την εγκάρδιον ευχαριστίαν ημών, Κύριε Πρόεδρε, διά την απονέμην τούτου του Παρασήμου, ως σημείον αναγνωρίσεως και εκτιμήσεως της πολυμερούς διακονίας της Ρουμανικής Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας. Εν ταυτώ, δεόμεθα του Θεού να καταπέμψη την ευλογίαν και χάριν Αυτού επί την Ρουμανίαν, επί τους οδηγούς αυτής, και επί πάν το Ρουμανικόν έθνος.
