His Holiness Pope Leo XIV,
Vatican City

Your Holiness,

Christ is Risen!

We would like to extend to Your Holiness our warm congratulations on your election as the 267th Bishop of Rome and Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

We are fully confident that Your Holiness will continue to promote the spirit of dialogue, peace, and cooperation between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. In a world that faces multiple spiritual, economic, and social crises, the united voice of Christians is more needed than ever to offer a message of hope, solidarity, and love.

At the same time, we hope that Your Holiness will continue to support the Romanian Orthodox faithful who live in large numbers across various Western European countries, especially in Italy, just as your venerable predecessors, the late Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, consistently did.

With cordial greetings in Christ,

†  Daniel
Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church
