Romania has earned recognition as one of the best travel destinations for 2025, according to American journalists. The country was featured in Vogue’s Top 10 Travel Destinations list, published at the end of last year. Additionally, National Geographic included Romania among the Top 25 Must-Visit Destinations for this year.
Romania in Vogue’s Top 10
Romania was ranked among The 10 Best Places to Travel in 2025 by Vogue magazine. The editors described it as a “rare country that truly has it all.”
Writers Elise Taylor and Liam Hess were captivated by Romania’s diverse attractions, including the vibrant city of Cluj-Napoca, hiking opportunities in the Carpathian Mountains, the beaches of the Black Sea, and the medieval castles of Transylvania.
“It’s taken a while to get there, but it finally feels like Romania is finally stepping out of the shadow of its tumultuous 20th-century history. It’s one of the fastest-growing economies in the European Union, its gastronomic and cultural scenes are thriving, and it’s that rare country that truly has it all,” noted Vogue.

CNN Travel also featured Romania among the Top 25 Must-Visit Destinations for 2025. The article highlighted cities such as Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Brașov, and Sebeș as key travel spots.
Romania’s capital, Bucharest, was praised for its abundance of museums and the charm of its Old Town, which attracts thousands of tourists from around the world. Visitors particularly admire the city’s historic architecture and landmarks that reflect its 20th-century history.
Furthermore, National Geographic included Brașov among the Top 5 Cities tourists should visit for a memorable vacation.
Romania’s growing popularity as a travel destination highlights its rich history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty, making it a must-see spot in 2025.
