Reading app for children launched in Romania

The NABU Reading App was launched last week in Romania. It facilitates mother tongue reading for children even without an Internet connection, allowing free download of illustrated books.

The application works on mobile devices – both smartphones and tablets – and it only requires slow internet, according to Edupedu.ro.

The content is addressed to children aged 2 to 10, who can access through it 100 titles in the Romanian language, but also in a bilingual format: Romanian-English.

NABU launched the app in Romania together with the UiPath Foundation and OvidiuRO non-governmental organizations. The goal is to extend the literacy level in our country.

The creators announced that, by the end of the year, the app will include 160 titles for Romanian children. The app has also made available in Romania 40 books in the Ukrainian language, in support of refugee children from Ukraine.

The NABU mother tongue reading app is currently available in Haiti, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Romania, Kenya, Philippines, DRC, Australia, and the USA. It can be freely downloaded from App Store and Google Play.
