Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria arrived on August 23, 2019, in Cyprus, Romfea reports.
Bishop Christoforos of Karpasia welcomed the Patriarch of Alexandria in the airport on behalf of the Archbishop of Cyprus.
The bishop accompanied the Patriarch to the seat of the Archdiocese of Cyprus, where Archbishop Chrysostomos held a private meeting with the Patriarch of Alexandria.
The Archbishop then hosted a luncheon in honour of the Patriarch of Alexandria.
Metropolitan Nektarios of Kition, who is chairperson the Synodical Committee for Youth, the Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Cyprus, Bishop Nikodimos of Nitria, Bishop of Karpasia, Bishop of Mesaoria, and priests of the Holy Archdiocese attended the luncheon.
The Patriarch of Alexandria will preside over the Archieratic Concelebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, August 25, at the Church of Saint Nicholas the Roof in Kakopetria.
Kakopetria will be the campsite of the Archdiocese of Cyprus for the young people from the Patriarchates of Alexandria, of Jerusalem, and of Antioch as well as the Church of Cyprus.
