Patriarch Daniel’s 2024 Easter Message: The Resurrection is the celebration of Christ’s humble and merciful love

In his Easter message, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel recalled that Christ’s Resurrection celebrates His humble and merciful love for all.

“The Resurrection of the Lord is the celebration of Christ’s humble and merciful love, the One who overcame hatred, violence and death, giving people eternal life. That is why Holy Pascha is the celebration of forgiveness, peace and joy.”

In his video message, Patriarch Daniel urged everyone to be kind and convey peace and joy, especially to vulnerable persons such as orphans, sick people and seniors.

Patriarch Daniel’s 2024 Easter Message: full text

The Resurrection of the crucified Lord Jesus Christ is the central truth of the Holy Gospel and the Orthodox Christian faith. That is why the icons of the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Christ are printed on the outer covers of the Holy Gospel.

From Pascha until the Ascension of the Lord, the church resounds with the Troparion of Holy Pascha and exchanges the Paschal salutation for forty days: Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!

The Resurrection of the Lord is the celebration of Christ’s humble and merciful love, the One who overcame hatred, violence and death, giving people eternal life. That is why Holy Pascha is the celebration of forgiveness, peace and joy.

In these festal days, let us share with those around us, in word and deed, the love, peace and joy of Christ, especially to orphaned children, the sick and the elderly, as well as Romanians living among foreigners.

May Holy Pascha bring the light and blessing of the Risen Christ to all of you, in your souls and your homes, with good health, happiness, and much help in life!

Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed!
