Patriarch Daniel expresses condolence for Archbishop Pimen who reposed in Bucharest

Archbishop Pimen of Suceava and Radauti reposed in the Lord during the night of May 19-20 at a hospital in Bucharest. He was 90 years of age and was the eldest Romanian hierarch. Patriarch Daniel has sent a condolence message to the Archdiocese of Suceava and Radauti of which His Eminence Pimen was former Archbishop.

Patriarch Daniel has expressed his sadness at the repose of Archbishop Pimen of Suceava and Radauti.

In a telegram to the members of the diocesan assembly and council, the Patriarch of Romania offered his heartfelt condolences for the loss of ‘a venerable hierarch of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, a missionary and diligent archpastor, a wise defender of Romanian Orthodox tradition and historical church monuments.’

‘Together with the hierarchs of the Holy Synod, with the priests, monastics and believers of the grieving Archdiocese of Suceava and Radauti, we offer prayers these days for the rest of his soul in the light, peace and love of the Most Holy Trinity.’

‘May his memory be eternal from generation to generation,’ concluded Patriarch Daniel sending ‘fatherly condolences to the bereaved diocese.’
