„Good Health in Villages” Campaign in Cernica Commune – Ilfov County

Saturday, 26 March 2016, the campaign entitled “Good Health in Villages” arrived in Cernica commune, Ilfov County.

In the medical room of School no 1 in Cernica commune, 12 physicians, as many medical assistants, as well as other volunteers from the Chapel of the National Cathedral provided free consultations for 140 patients.

Even if located close to Bucharest, for some of the inhabitants of Cernica commune a medical check remained a dream that only today could come true.

This is only one of the cases the volunteers are faced with every week, but all those who come to medical check ask for help and state that they need support to be able to come to a physician. The financial state is the main cause for which the people neglect their care for good health. Many times they arrive to a physician when it is too late.

The specialist physicians draw the attention to the people that they must learn how to prevent. A medical consultation at the right time can save a life! Moreover, it is also the physicians who say that it is safer, easier and cheaper to prevent than treating!

The “Good Health in Villages” campaign is at its 14th edition and it is unfolded as a result of the Protocol of cooperation signed between the Romanian Patriarchate and the Ministry of Health, focused especially on the aged people, as well as on the persons with low social-economical status. More than 1,000 people benefited from free consultations so far.
