Father Ciprian Mihail Badin, the Romanian parish priest from Preston, in northern Great Britain, celebrated the first Romanian-language Divine Liturgy on the remote Isle of Man in the Irish Sea.
The service took place on the Sunday of All Romanian Saints at Saint George’s Church, an Anglican parish in Douglas.
Father Ciprian Mihail Badin will coordinate this new Orthodox mission in the coming period. The Romanian community present at the service warmly welcomed this development, which expressed its desire to participate regularly in liturgical life.
According to the Media and Communication Department of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the children’s Communion at the end of the service was a moment of spiritual comfort and strength for parents and the entire community, far from their homeland but close to the Church.

This new mission is part of the Archdiocese’s ongoing effort to bring liturgical ministry to places where Romanians seek comfort and strengthening in their faith.
The Isle of Man is a self-governing territory under the British Crown, with Douglas as its capital. The island can be reached by a ferry journey lasting over four hours.
