Greek Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis was received by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel at the Patriarchal Residence on Saturday. “Romania and Greece are united by very strong ties that have endured for centuries,” the Greek official emphasised.
Evangelia Grammatika, Ambassador of Greece to Bucharest, also attended the official visit. Discussions focused on relations between the two countries, current challenges and the role of social cohesion.
The Greek Finance Minister said the meeting also addressed ways of supporting social cohesion and how “we could do more for our societies and our peoples”.
“I am very grateful to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel for the wonderful meeting we had,” Kyriakos Pierrakakis said.
During the visit, the Patriarch of Romania presented the Greek officials with several volumes authored by His Beatitude and published by the Romanian Patriarchate’s publishing houses.
Patriarch Daniel also presented the Greek Finance Minister with the Diploma and Medal of the 2026 Solemn Year of the Pastoral Care of the Christian Family.
