Bishop Iustin attends March for Life in Baia Mare: Who will defend the unborn babies, if not the Church?

“Who will defend the unborn babies from the crimes that are committed with every abortion and who will fight for the right to life of every unborn child, if not the Christian Church in which Christ is an Infant – Christ in the family – Christ the Teacher – Christ the Healer – Christ suffering through the Cross, Christ is the Saviour of the world and humanity,” His Grace Bishop Iustin of Maramureș asked during the March for Life held Saturday in Baia Mare.

Hundreds of people participated in the event, named by the bishop “a procession celebrating life.”

“We organised the March for Life, or as I would call it, a procession celebrating life, with priests from Baia Mare, coordinated by the theological-educational and youth department. We had the joy of having parents, children, young people, students, beautiful people at heart and with a lot of faith in God, people who faithfully live normality, love the family as a divine creation, and cherish our sacred values. The Church is where the life that is born, the blessed life from a man and a woman, is protected,” the Bishop of Maramureș and Sătmar noted on March 18, 2023.

The event was attended by young people representing the local Orthodox associations, teachers, students, and believers from Baia Mare.

The March for Life takes place on Saturday, closest to the feast of the Annunciation, but some localities hold the event earlier.

The theme of the current edition of the March for Life: “The future is pro-life”. The event promotes the responsibility of individuals and society towards unborn children and support for mothers and children. The proposals of the March for Life movement are made public annually in the event’s press release.
