His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, visited on Sunday, 08 November 2015, the memorial house of Patriarch Teoctist in Tocileni, Botoșani County. Together with His Beatitude were also present His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina, and other hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
The Patriarch of Romania has been welcomed by many faithful from Tocileni village, and by many clergy as well.
On this occasion, His Beatitude offered several books for the memorial house of Patriarch Teoctist: Album of the Patriarch of Romania, Acts and decrees of Canonization of the Romanian Saints, Dictionary of Romanian and foreign hierarchs – servants of the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

We congratulate the mayor, His Eminence Teofan and all involved in the establishment of this museum, but also those who enter here with gratitude, joy, respect and appreciation to honour the memory of a great patriot, a lover of Christ, of the Church and of the Romanian nation”.

Built by local authorities, the memorial house of Patriach Teoctist of blessed memory exhibits objects of the former hierarch, donated by the Romanian Patriarchate and by the Metropolits of Moldova and Bucovina, and is decorated with traditional objects of the Botoşani area. The Patriarch Teoctist Memorial house of Patriarch Teoctist was built according to a photography in the personal archive of Arapaşu family. The construction, having the typical style of Moldavian architecture, is composed of: a porch, two rooms, a terrace, a roof made of reef, a shed for farming tools, an enclosure made of twigs in the yard. The miter, hierarchal staff, the vestments of the former Patriarch, the books written by him, objects that belonged to his family, a library containing 17 volumes of sermons, as well as many medals and distinctions acquired in his life, are exhibited in the memorial house.
