The Church of Zosin Monastery was consecrated

His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, consecrated on Sunday, 08 November 2015, the church of the Zosin Monastery, assisted by an assembly of hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Thousands of faithful as well as local officials were present the event.

The following hierarchs also concelebrated:

  • His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina;
  • His Eminence Petru, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Territories;
  • His Eminence Pimen, Archbishop of Suceava and Radauţi;
  • His Eminence Ioachim, Archbishop of Roman and Bacău;
  • His Grace Corneliu, Bishop of Huşi;
  • His Grace Macarie, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Northern Europe;
  • His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul (of Ploieşti), Assistant Bishop to the Romanian Patriarch;
  • His Grace Calinic Botoşăneanul (of Botoșani), Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Iaşi;

At the end, the Head of the Romanian Orthodox Church appreciated the work realized at the monastic settlement and congratulated the founders.

“By the help of God, we have consecrated the Church of Zosin Monastery dedicating it to the Life/giving Spring of the Mother of God and to All romanian Saints. By this holy place of worship, and also by all surroundings buildings, this monastery has been blessed by God with a rare beauty”, said His Beatitude.

The faithful present at the divine services officiated at Zosin Monastery also had the opportunity to venerate the holy relics of Saint John Chrysostom brought in pilgrimage from the Patriarchal Residence, in Bucharest.

The church consecrated today is protected by the Mother of God, being dedicated to her Life-giving Spring. The second patronal feast of the Church is that of the All Romanian Saints. The foundation stone of the church was laid in the spring of 2006, but the works started one year later. Church painter Liviu Dumbravă painted the church from 2009 until 2015.
