The head of the Romanian Government’s Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM), State Secretary Adrian Dupu, met with His Eminence Metropolitan Petru in Chisinau last week.
The two discussed the situation of the Metropolis of Bessarabia and its needs. Adrian Dupu conveyed his department’s support for the mission of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis in the Republic of Moldova.
“The Church has always played an important role in the life of society, but, especially in difficult times, people turned more towards God and found solace in the Church,” Adrian Dupu said on January 24.
“At the same time, faith is one of the pillars that form the basis of the connection between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.”
The State Secretary announced that the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova would provide more funds to the Metropolis of Bessarabia for its projects in 2023.
