Saint Nicholas’ relic to visit Romanian parish in Denmark for special celebration

A relic of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, which is currently housed at the New Saint George Church in Bucharest, will be transported to the Romanian Parish in Vejle, Denmark, from September 27 to 28.

The event is part of the “Days of Saint Constantine Brâncoveanu” in Denmark, organized by “Saint Stephen the Great” Youth Centre of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Northern Europe.

The liturgical program will begin on Friday, September 27, with the Sacrament of Holy Unction, officiated by Bishop Macarie, after the reception of Saint Nicholas’s right hand. It will continue with the Divine Liturgy on Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29.

In honour of the “Days of Saint Constantine Brâncoveanu,” the Northern Europe Diocese Youth Centre will host a charitable football tournament dedicated to parish teams.

The Romanian Embassy in Copenhagen’s football team will also participate in the tournament.

Organizers expect teams from outside Denmark, including Sweden, Norway, and Germany, to join. The funds raised will support a family within the community.
