Priest Cătălin Mureș, who serves at the Holy Great Martyr Menas Church in Suceava, is a physiotherapist in his spare time. At his ordination to the priesthood, he prayed to God to be able to heal sick people.
“Then, in 1992, I was thinking of helping them through prayer, thinking that I would pray for the sick and God would heal them. But over the years, I realized that the gift I received for what I asked for is to help them through this therapy, put my back and mind to work, and not give orders to God. Practically, when I massage them, I kneel next to each one for about an hour. I pray for them and know that I am helping them with God’s help and work, ” the priest from Suceava told local journalists.
The priest learned Yumeiho therapy, a combination of several Japanese and Chinese treatments that restore the human body to the balance lost due to wrong posture at work.
The priest confesses that he does not cure the pain but restores the body’s equilibrium, from which point the healing begins.
Physiotherapy does not replace physician-prescribed medical treatment but complements it for the patient’s recovery.
At the moment, Father Cătălin Mureș is an instructor for the Japanese Yumeiho therapy.
