Romanian Presence At The International Festival Of Orthodox Music In Bulgaria

From 10-14 June 2016, the 13th edition of the International Festival of Orthodox Music entitled “Dostoino est” is held in Pomorie, Bulgaria.

The parish choir of the Annunciation parish in Târgu Ocna town, Oneşti deanery participates in the festival with the blessing of His Eminence Ioachim, Archbishop of Roman and Bacău.

During the four days of the festival the participant groups perform, at the place of worship in Pomorie, the pieces prepared according to the festival regulations: 8 pieces, out of which there were 4 in the Russian language and 2 pieces from the repertory of composer and conductor Al. Arhanghelskii, at the 170th anniversary of his birth. During the festival, the choral groups also perform pieces from the national repertory in the open air – Rev. Fr. Ioan Panţiru, from the parish of the Annunciation, Târgu Ocna town, informs.

Every year, the event is organised under the spiritual patronage of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria with the support of the local authorities of Pomorie. Choral groups and bands from Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova, Poland, etc. participate in the festival.
