Romanian Orthodox Church representative attends Eurodiaconia General Meeting in Paris

Father Ciprian Ioniță, Patriarchal Counselor in the Social-Philanthropic Department of the Romanian Patriarchal Administration, is representing the Filantropia Federation of the Romanian Patriarchate at the General Annual Meeting of Eurodiaconia—a European network of churches and Christian NGOs providing social and healthcare services.

While last year’s General Assembly was held in Bucharest and hosted by the Filantropa Federation, this year’s meeting is taking place in Paris from April 1–4, hosted by the Fédération de l’Entraide Protestante (“Federation of Protestant Solidarity”).

This year’s theme is “Changing Society, Changing Lives: The Impact of Mission in Europe.”

The discussions and debates focused on ways to measure and communicate the impact of philanthropic initiatives, the importance of a person-centered approach, and the spiritual dimension of social mission work in society.

Conversations drew on the experience and expertise of Eurodiaconia members and included external speakers with specialized knowledge.

Eurodiaconia is a network of Christian churches and organizations committed to provide social and healthcare services while also supporting social justice. Through the voice of our 61 members from 33 countries, Eurodiaconia envisions a Europe where everyone is valued, focusing on strengthening diaconal social services and addressing root causes of inequalities, poverty, and exclusion.
