Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in UK unveils youth projects for 2026

The Youth Department of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has announced the projects it plans to implement in 2026.

Among the department’s initiatives are the organisation of introductory training courses in youth work for priests and youth workers, the running of camps and pilgrimages, the coordination of educational and cultural projects, and the strengthening of cooperation with the NEPSIS UK Brotherhood and the Clerical Roots project.

The archdiocese will also facilitate the participation of children’s and youth groups from the diaspora in the ARC Camps, organised annually in Romania by the Department for Romanians Abroad, in partnership with national institutions and with the support of the Romanian Patriarchate.

New project

In 2026, the Archdiocese of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will also launch the first-ever Summer Camp.

The camp will take place over three days, from July 21 to July 23, 2026, at a location near London, with future editions planned for other areas of the archdiocese.

According to the archdiocese, “this initiative aims to bring together young people from different parishes in a setting that combines educational and recreational activities with prayer, moments of spiritual reflection, teamwork, and the cultivation of friendship.”

The vision of the Youth Department is to contribute to the formation of a generation of young people who become friends of Christ and friends to one another, living the Orthodox faith in a conscious, committed and responsible manner.
