The national contest of projects entitled the “Holy Eucharist – Light of the Christian Life”, organised by the Theological Educational Department of the Romanian Patriarchate was addressed to the children and young people from the groups of catechesis of the parishes of the country involved in the catechetic programme entitled “Christ Shared to the Children”. The contest of the “Holy Eucharist – Light of the Christian Life” was designed to educate the children and young people and familiarize them with the Sacraments of the Church, especially with the Divine Liturgy and Sacrament of Confession, to actively involve them in the social-philanthropic work at the parish level, to help them understand the meaning of fasting and the church order, and to teach them how the confession and Holy Eucharist work in their life. Teams made up of priest, religion teacher and children and young people from the parochial catechetic group aged from 7 to 17 could go in for the contest, so that they had to work out missionary-philanthropic educational projects and implement them. The contest was held at the deaneries level from 26 March – 15 April, and at the eparchies level from 18 April – 5 May.
