Prize Award Of The Winners Of „Rev Academician Dumitru Staniloae” Contest Of Theology

Today, 5 May 2015, the winners of the contest of theology entitled “Rev Academician Dumitru Staniloae” were awarded prizes in the Patriarchal Residence, by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. They received diplomas and money.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel delivered a speech, congratulated the winners and spoke about the personality of Rev Prof Dumitru Staniloae: “We congratulate Rev Dean Stefan Buchiu and the rev professors who organised this contest, as well as the winners. We are glad because the young generation who, very often, have not personally met Rev Prof Dumitru Staniloae, but only his work, have more and more passion to study the depth and richness of the theological and spiritual work of Father Dumitru Staniloae. Very seldom a theologian happens to unit a very deep theological – philosophical thought with filocalic spirituality. May God help us honour our forerunners through the knowledge acquired from their work especially through the confessing power of their faith and theological thought for the glory of God and joy of the Church!”

The winners of the contest are the following:

Prize I: Comănoiu Mihail

Prize II: Keller Marius

Prize III: Vlaicu Eusebiu Damian

Mention I: Zidaru Răducu

Mention II: Covrig Ionuţ Cosmin

Mention III: Mihai Mario Dorin

This year, the theme of “Rev Academician Dumitru Staniloae” Contest was “Charismatic Presence of the Holy Trinity in the life of the Church”, having been the fourth edition of this competition dedicated to the great Romanian theologian.

The members of the standing meeting of the Eparchial Council of the Archdiocese of Bucharest were also present at this event.
