President of the Greek Parliament on a Visit to the Romanian Patriarchate

On 15 October 2013, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received Mr. Evanghelos Meimarkis, President of the Greek Parliament, who is paying an official to Romania, accompanied by a Greek Parliamentary delegation. His Excellency Grigorios Vassiloconstandakis, Ambassador of the Greek Republic in Bucharest was also present.

The President of the Greek Parliament thanked for reception and underlined the importance of cooperation between MP-s from the countries Orthodox in their majority for promoting the Christian principles and values in today’s society.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel emphasised the good traditional relations of friendship between the two Orthodox Churches and peoples, as well as the necessity to have a stronger common confession of faith and spiritual values in society. At the same time, the Patriarch of Romania emphasised the importance of dialogue and cooperation in order to overcome the economical and spiritual crisis that marks the contemporary society.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel has also conveyed through Mr Evanghelos Meimarakis a fraternal message to His Beatitude Ieronim II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, and the invitation to visit the Romanian Orthodox Church.
