New financial and material support offered by the Romanian Patriarchate before the expiration of the state of emergency

The Romanian Orthodox Church has continued its extensive aid campaign in the context of the pandemic and the emergency state, the latter effectively ending in Romania this Thursday, May 14. The Church has offered substantial and diversified aid, through parishes and dioceses, to the elderly and the poor, the sick and disabled and to the people temporarily isolated or quarantined.

The diocesan centers, deaneries, parishes and monasteries from the Romanian Patriarchate were directly involved, offering further financial and material aid in value of 366,000 Euros (1,767,365 Lei) during May 4 – 11.

The total amount of help offered up to now throughout the Romanian Patriarchate, which has exceeded 3.9 million Euros (18,917,028 Lei), effectively reflects the Church’s unique charitable involvement in the most vulnerable areas of Romanian society affected by this pandemic.
