National Cathedral consecration attendance statistics

The Chancellery of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church published a report presenting information about the attendance of believers at the consecration of the National Cathedral in Bucharest, giving the exact names of parishes and group attendants.

As estimated by the Romanian Gendarmerie, approximately 150,000 people visited the National Cathedral and venerated the newly consecrated Holy Altar from November 25 to December 2, 2018.

Total attendance reported on the day of the consecration, Nov. 25, was 55,000 people, of whom 47,320 were organized in groups.

As reported, the believers came from 2,251 parishes, cult units, educational institutions, or other church institutions from home and abroad.

1,837 clergymen or laypersons were reported to lead or attend the organized groups.
