His Eminence Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia extended his congratulations to Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, on her election to a new term in office.
“In light of Your Excellency’s election to the esteemed office of President of the Republic of Moldova, please allow us to extend our warmest and most sincere congratulations,” wrote His Eminence.
“We wish you health, wisdom, and God’s blessing in the noble mission entrusted to you by the faithful people.”
“The people expressed their desire through their vote, demonstrating that the Lord fulfils the requests of the righteous (Proverbs 10:24) and that the Spirit of God continually works when the heart of the righteous turns to good (Ephesians 5:9),” added Metropolitan Petru.
“In this spirit of communion and love, we assure you of our prayers for a brighter, just, and European future for the Republic of Moldova.”
“Your Excellency’s election is a sign of trust and hope in a government that will serve all citizens, regardless of ethnicity, language, or faith. We are confident that Your Excellency will remain a devoted leader, dedicating your life to the community’s well-being, treating all with love and fairness,” continued His Eminence.
“We are grateful to all who came out to vote, demonstrating maturity and love for country and nation. Through this participation, the people showed that unity is blessed by God (Psalms 132:1) and that there is extraordinary strength in shared prayer and responsible action.”
“The vote was, without a doubt, a testimony of the desire for justice, freedom, unity, and hope for a peaceful future. We pray that Almighty God will guide and strengthen you in this sacred mission, inspiring you so that every word that comes from your mouth will bring peace and edification (cf. Ephesians 4:29),” said Metropolitan Petru in his message.
“The Metropolis of Bessarabia stands with Your Excellency, ready to contribute to the common good for a united, just, and prosperous Moldova. May God grant you the strength to bear this cross of serving the nation with dignity, always keeping in mind the welfare of the people and the European future of the Republic of Moldova.”
Maia Sandu secured 55.41% of the vote in the Republic of Moldova, as the election results were validated on Monday morning. The Moldovan diaspora’s unwavering support significantly influenced Sandu’s triumph.
