Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Archbishop of Cyprus

The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Markos Bolaris, on Monday, met with His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus at his residence in Nicosia.

According to the website of the Church of Cyprus, the two parts discussed issues regarding the Church and state relations, as well as other topics related to Orthodoxy worldwide.

Deputy Minister Bolaris expressed his gratitude for the good cooperation with the Archbishop of Cyprus, stressing that ‘it is always beneficial to exchange views and positions, especially on the major themes of Orthodoxy.’

‘Today, with a great honour and joy, I have visited His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus at the Holy Archdiocese,’ Bolaris wrote on his Twitter account.

‘We had the opportunity to discuss extremely interesting issues for our common journey and the ecumenicity of Orthodoxy and the Romiosyne.’

The meeting held on Monday, November 5, 2018, was also attended by the Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Ilias Fotopoulos.
