Greek Ambassador to Romania, Her Excellency Lili-Evangelia Grammatika, accompanied by Consul Euthymios Fokas and Greece’s Honorary Consul in Constanța, Theodoros Skandalides, visited Tulcea County on Friday, February 7.
During the visit, Ambassador Grammatika met with His Grace Bishop Visarion, who presented her with an icon depicting the Virgin Mary.
The Greek diplomat also held discussions with local authorities, including Tulcea County Council Vice Presidents Lavinia Vizauer and Iancu Naciadis, County Administrator Dumitru Mergeani, Prefect Alexandru Dan Munteanu, Tulcea Mayor Ștefan Ilie, and Parliamentarian Mirela Furtună, Vice President of the European Affairs Committee in the Romanian Parliament.
Talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism, culture, and education, as well as advancing the implementation of the vertical transport corridor connecting Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria.
The visit concluded with a meeting with members of the Greek community in Tulcea and Greek teachers working in the region.
