Orthodox chaplains at the Municipal Hospital in Onești, located in eastern Romania, distributed gifts to children hospitalised during the Easter holiday.
The initiative took place on Pascha Sunday and was carried out by Fr Petrica Cuibar and Fr Samuel Pricaz, the institution’s two chaplains.
“Children tried by suffering received the gifts with emotion and joy, and their radiant faces became a living icon of hope and faith,” Fr Samuel Pricaz wrote on the website of the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacău.
“Through this act, the aim was not only to ease material needs, but especially to strengthen souls, bringing into the hearts of the children and their families the good news of the Lord’s Resurrection,” he added.
The initiative aligns with the mission of the “Saint Panteleimon” Church at Onești Municipal Hospital, which aims to support those in suffering by providing comfort and fostering selfless love, particularly during challenging times.
