Orthodox hierarchs from France and the Benelux countries will organise a day of prayer and reflection on caring for creation in Paris on 12 September, according to Orthodoxie.com.
The event will take place at the Holy Archangels Cathedral of the Romanian Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe, beginning at 16:00.
The Assembly of Orthodox Bishops of France (AEOF) and the Orthodox Episcopal Conference of Benelux (CEOB) are organising it under the theme, “And God saw that everything was good” (Genesis 1:31).
Dialogue on the care of creation
The programme will begin with a prayer of thanksgiving, followed by welcoming remarks from Metropolitan Demetrios of France and Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Lectures, a round-table discussion and conversations on the care of creation are scheduled from 16:45. The meeting will conclude with an address by Metropolitan Iosif of Western and Southern Europe at 18:30.
The day of prayer will continue with Great Vespers at 19:00, celebrated by Metropolitan Athenagoras.
Representatives of the Apostle Paul Institute of Orthodox Theology, the Saint-Serge Institute of Orthodox Theology and the Dumitru Stăniloae Centre for Orthodox Theology of the Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe will attend the event.
