Diaconia Social Mission takes stock of its good deeds in 2022

During last week’s General Assembly in Chisinau, the Diaconia Social Mission of the Metropolis of Bessarabia reviewed its activities through 2022.

Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia delivered the event’s opening remarks: “The Church needs you so that we can serve the poor.”

“We appreciate Diaconia’s work because it is not easy, and they have to work with each individual, poor or elderly. Therefore, may God grant that you work in this field of the Church, all of you here, with a lot of dedication and love.”

The Executive Director of the Diaconia Social Mission, Igor Belei, took the floor, saying that “Diaconia is not only an organisation of the civil society in the Republic of Moldova, but Diaconia also is the social expression of the Romanian Orthodox Church in this space and represents how the Church is manifested and manifests its love for others.”

Igor Belei recalled that 22 years ago, Diaconia was represented by a small group of people who wanted to do good. Today, the Social Mission has become “a large organisation with all the elements of a serious organisation.”

After the executive director’s speech, the coordinators of the departments and services implemented by Diaconia presented their activity reports.

At the end of the event, Cristian Neguț, strategic planning consultant at the Diaconia Social Mission, carried out a planning strategy exercise with those present.
