Blessing For The Social Eparchial Counsellors Of The Country

Today, 8 May 2015, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church received at the Patriarchal Residence the social eparchial counsellors from all over the country.

The Patriarch of Romania blessed them and spoke about the responsibility they must have for their fellow beings in distress: “Any work or social philanthropic programme must have a moral educational character from the very beginning. Those who benefit of it must be taught to thank. We must teach those whom we help to thank God, the sponsors and those who work. They must also take turns in helping others with their little energy and with what they still have. A philanthropic work is really Christian Orthodox when it has an educational character too. The work done must be qualitative and be used so as its beneficiaries should become workers in the social philanthropic field. If they cannot do it with material things, they can give a good piece of advice or say a prayer.”

To end with the meeting, they received several books on behalf of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

These days, the social eparchial counsellors are in Bucharest on the occasion of the General Assembly of the “Filantropia” Federation. They discussed about the strategies for implementing the new projects. Rev patriarchal counsellor Dorel Nicolae Motoc, general secretary of “Filantropia” Federation gave more information for Trinitas Radio station: “We discussed about a series of things related to the present situation of “Filantropia” Federation, to the future projects which the Federation wants to develop in partnership with the members and eparchies. We have also discussed about the orientation that the eparchies worked out in regard to the future programmes, 2014-2015, concerning the access to the structural and investment European funds. There also were clarifying discussions on the visible social philanthropic work, having really been delighted with the activity of the rev counsellor unfolded together with his colleagues within the department related to the interactive activity and everything achieved so far”.
