Archbishop Anastasios of Albania honored with 2020 Klaus Hemmerle Award

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, His Beatitude Anastasios, was honored on Friday in Aachen, Germany with the international award Klaus Hemmerle for 2020, for his contribution to the rapproachment and peaceful coexistence of communities with different cultural and religious backgrounds.

The awards ceremony was held at the emblematic Aachen Cathedral.

More than 300 people attended the ceremony, including representatives of Orthodox Churches.

In his acceptance speech, Archbishop Anastasios spoke on the subject of “Peaceful coexistence in a multi-religious world”.
