A new online section for presenting the social and philanthropic activity of the Church

A new section of the official website of the Romanian Patriarchate has been launched on Monday, 14 September 2015, being designed for presenting the social, philanthropic and medical activities carried out both by parishes, and by the NGOs that activate with the eparchial blessing.

As informed by Rev. Fr. Cezar-Antonio Dumitraşcu, patriarchal adviser within the Social and Philanthropic Department of the Patriarchal Administration, this section is meant to increase the visibility of the mentioned activities, and also to facilitate the access of people to the entire range of social and medical services, and of philanthropic programs for the main categories of needy beneficiaries: children, elderly persons, unemployed, disabled persons, families in social risk.

The users of the website have access to an interactive map, which indicates the location of the establishments based on GPS coordinates, individual webpages containing contact information, presentation and photos, and also multiple facilities to filter information, based on county or eparchy localization, activity type, beneficiaries, name.

This initiative makes the care of the Romanian Orthodox Church for people in distress and need well known to the general public, and also it represents an exhortation addressed to every faithful to join and follow the good practice examples.
