7 May 1915 – Archdeacon IOAN IVAN, professor and historian, was born at Țigănași, county of Iași. Studies at “Saint George” Seminary of Roman (1928 – 1936), then at the Faculty of Theology of Bucharest (1936 – 1941), University Pedagogical Seminary of Bucharest (1941 – 1942). Deacon (1943), professor at the Theological Seminary of Roman (1943 – 1948), at the Schools for Singers in Iași (1949-1950) and Suceava (1950 – 1952), then at the Theological Seminary of Neamț Monastery (1952 – 1975), where he was director from 1952 – 1961 and 1971-1975. He passed away on 29 June 2009, at Neamț Monastery.
