3 August 1975 – Pedagogue and theology professor BARTOLOMEU POPESCU

passed away in Bucharest. Studies at the Normal School for Teachers of

Câmpulung Muscel and in private at the Theoretic Secondary School of

Gheorghe Lazăr of Bucharest, then high studies at the Faculty of

Philology and Philosophy (1920 – 1923) and at the Faculty of Theology

(1930 – 1934), both of them in Bucharest; doctor’s degree in Pedagogy

81937); teacher, director of primary schools, professor at the Faculty

of Theology (turned into Theological Institute) of Bucharest, where he

taught courses of Pedagogy, History of Pedagogy and Catechetics (1942 –

1955).

Works: Sociology for the 8th form of secondary school and

seminary (in collaboration, 1932); Christian Philosophy and Pedagogy of

J.A. Comenius (1940); various articles in “Magazine of Pedagogy” and in

some other church magazines as well.
