2nd Sunday of the Great Lent celebrated at Domniţa Bălaşa Church in Bucharest

His Grace Ieronim of Sinaia, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, celebrated the Divine Liturgy  on the 2nd Sunday of the Great Lent at Domnişa Bălaşa Church in Bucharest. In the homily delivred His Grace showed that the gospel reading draws our attention on the spiritual qualities necessary for every faithful, but also how important is faith for the salvation of the soul.

„If we look at the paralytic, but also his four friends, we can discover some special qualities. We will find something eseential for human life: the faith in the Eternal God, in the Almighty and Merciful God”, His Grace Ieronim of Sinaia said.

His Grace also underlined the fact that by the Sacrament of Repentance we receive the healing of our spiritual and bodily weaknesses.

„Beyound this special value of faith, which cand move mountains and works miracles our Savior Jesus Christ tell sus an utter truth: the fact that our bodily weaknesses, our sins, can bring us illnesses. The disease can be of the body, but be also of the soul, which is harder to heal. But every disease can be healed and the recovery from our spiritual and bodily illnesses is given to us by the Sacrament of Repentance when Jesus Christ, the True God, forgives our sins”, the Assistant Bishop to the Romanian Patriarch, explained.

The Church is one of the most beautiful and impressive churches in Bucharest. It is the foundation of the daughter of the Ruler Prince of Wallachia, St. Martyr Constantine Brâncoveanu.
