April 1978 – Priest and theology professor COJOCARU HARALAMBIE passed

away, in Bucharest. He was born on 18 October 1906, at Dealu Mare

village, county of Dâmbovița. Studies at the “Central Seminary” of

Bucharest, followed by the courses of the Faculty of Roman-Catholic

Faculty of Strasbourg (1927 – 1932). In 1940 he was awarded the title of

doctor in Theology at Chișinău, and then did research studies in

Strasbourg (1936) and Berlin (1938 – 1939). He functioned as professor

locum tenens at the Theological Seminary of Ismail (1932- 1934), then as

supervisor, inspector of studies and deacon at the boarding house of

the Faculty of Theology of Chișinău 81934 – 1937). Later on he was

employed as lecturer in Church law, at the Faculties of Theology in

Chișinău (1937 – 1941) and Bucharest (1941 – 1948). From 1948 – 1952, he

worked as lecturer at the chair of Exegesis of the New Testament, at

the Theological Institute of Bucharest. He served as priest at the

church of “Patriarch Miron” of Bucharest (1940 – 1978). In 1962, the

Military Court of Bucharest sentenced him to five years prison.

Works:

The Notion of Church with Saint Paul the Apostle (1935); Is Peter’s

primacy a privilege of divine right? (1940). At the origins of the Roman

Catholic exegesis Are you Peter? (Matthew 16:18-19); he published

articles in the church press of the time.
