High
school studies in Brad, Beiuș and Brașov, the Theological Institute of
Sibiu (1893 – 1896) and the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of
Budapest, which would award him the doctor’s degree. Professor at the
Theological-Pedagogical Institute of Sibiu (1902 – 1919), professor and
director of the Normal School of “Andrei Șaguna” of Sibiu (1919 – 1927),
deacon, then priest, tonsured into monasticism in 1925, vicar to the
Archdiocese of Sibiu (1927), assistant hierarch at Sibiu with the title
of “Rășinăreanul” (1928 – 1938), Bishop of Maramureș, seated in Sighet,
till his death (from 1940 – 1944, during the horthyst occupation,
refugee at Sibiu). He published several studies in “Revista teologică”
(Theological Magazine) and “Telegraful Român” (The Romanian Telegraph),
“Year Books of the Normal School” of Sibiu, translations etc. he was
born on 30 January 1875, in Sohodol, county of Alba.
