May 1990 – Priest and professor SEBASTIAN CHILEA passed away in

Bucharest. He studies at the Theological Seminary of “Saint Nicholas” of

Râmnicu Vâlcea (1921 – 1929) and at the Faculty of Theology of

Bucharest (1929 – 1933, graduated in 1934), with a doctor’s degree in

1949. He was parish priest at Baia de Aramă, county of Mehedinți (1931 –

1941); preacher priest at the “Saint Dumitru” Cathedral of Craiova

(since 1941); professor at the Theological Seminary of Craiova (1951 –

1952 and 1955 – 1959), then at the one in Bucharest (1965 – 1978).

Political refugee for several years (1959 – 1964).

Works: Ethics

and Aesthetics (1948, doctorate thesis); Present Homiletic

Considerations (O. 1967); On Origen’s Hypothesis (St, 1978), Saints at

the sinners’ judgement (ST, 1979). He published over one hundred sermons

in the magazines “Glasul Bisericii”, “Mitropolia Olteniei”, etc.
