August 1857 – Priest and pedagogue PAVEL SAVIN was born in Bibirești
village, county of Bacău. Studies at the Low Seminary of Roman and at
“Veniamin” Seminary of Iași (1896). Priest at the Metropolitan Cathedral
of Iași – photo-, deputy director (1896 – 1899) and director
(1899-1921) at “Veniamin” Seminary in the capital city of Moldova. He
printed the Little Bible in 1913, together with Bishop Nicodim Munteanu
and archimandrite Iuliu Scriban, also editing brochures, conferences and
specialised articles. He passed away on 18 April 1926, in Iași.
