His Eminence John, Metropolitan of Rustavi celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, 2 October 2016, at St Anthimos Monastery in Bucharest. His Eminence Ephraim, Archbishop of Bolnisi, concelebrated.

When our Saviour says the Beatitudes, He regards them as steps towards perfection, and begins with the spiritual poverty, understood as awareness of one’s own state of sinfulness, of limitation, thus attaining the love of others. Today’s Gospel gives witness to the ladder of spiritual steps, offered as an example by our Saviour Jesus Christ in the Sermon on the Mount. The world does not understand the height of Christian spirituality, because the world justifies its own sins. May God help you ascend the ladder of Beatitudes and attain the Kingdom of God!
The same day, the delegation of the Georgian Orthodox Church that took part in the events commemorating 300 years since the martyrical death of Saint Anthimos the Ivirite returned to Georgia.
