Monasteries in the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bukovina were adorned with natural white vestments on Saturday after the weather suddenly turned cold, and the first snow fell before the start of winter according to the meteorological calendar.
The first snow was not long expected in some areas of the North-Eastern region of Romania, especially in the counties of Iași, Suceava and Neamț, where it snowed both on the night from Friday to Saturday and throughout the day, covering everything with a white layer.


The monastic settlement where Elder Cleopas Ilie lived was covered with snow since the early morning hours.


The Putna Monastery, emblematic of the region of Moldavia, received the white garment of nature on Saturday morning.

The snow also fell on the Vovidenia Hermitage in Neamț, founded by Bishop Ioanichie of Roman three centuries ago.

The monastery, believed to have been named after the monk Pangratie, a disciple of Saint Nicodemus of Tismana, was adorned with snow on Saturday.

The Neamț Monastery, or the “Jerusalem of Romanian Orthodoxy”, was covered by this season’s first snow.


Golia Monastery, the place from where Radio Trinitas first broadcast, was encompassed by snow.


The Monastery of Romanian Heroes was covered by a thick snow layer on Saturday, enhancing its beauty.
