The Romanian Orthodox Parish Verona 2 in Italy has formed a partnership with the local food bank to assist socially vulnerable members of its community.
Through this collaboration, the parish will function as a distribution centre for essential food supplies.
The partnership with Banco Alimentare—one of Italy’s largest charitable networks—will enable the collection and redistribution of food products to those facing material hardship, offering not only nourishment but also dignity and a sense that they are not alone.
“At a time when many of our fellow people are going through difficult moments, this collaboration is an answer to our prayers and a sign that the Church is, above all, a family united in good deeds,” parish representatives said.
They also invited the faithful to inform them of families in need of social assistance.
The initiative signifies a new chapter in the community’s social and charitable endeavours, translating Christian love into tangible support for families and individuals facing difficulties.
Dedicated to Saint Sophia and her daughters Pistis, Elpis, and Agapis, the parish church is situated at Vicolo Basso Acquar 18 in Verona.
