Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria visited the city of Dolisie in Congo

On the morning of February 18, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by Metropolitan Panteleimon of Brazzaville and Gabon and Bishop Theodoros of Babylonia, arrived in Dolisie, the third most populous city of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville.

After the ceremonial visit to Governorate, the Patriarch of Alexandria went to the Parish Community of St Irene where he attended the divine liturgy, Romfea News reports.

Then Patriarch Theodore visited the “Light of the Nations” Primary School of the Metropolis. In the recently renovated school, he attended an anniversary event on the occasion of the completion of ten years since the foundation of the school by the Patriarch.

In his address, the Patriarch stressed the importance of quality education, emphasizing that it is now a priority for the Patriarchate of Alexandria to set up more schools in Africa.

He also congratulated the Metropolitan and the teaching staff for the high level of education and offered sweets and small icons to students.

He also visited the model “St Efstathios” Orphanage, where he visited all the premises of the renovated building accompanied by the local authorities, followed by a meal with the children who receive healthcare in the facilities.
