His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, sent a message on Saturday for the Coronation of King Charles III, whom His Beatitude calls “a true friend of the Romanian people”.

Your Majesty,
On the occasion of the solemn moment of Your Majesty’s coronation in the historical Westminster Abbey, we address to you our heartfelt congratulations and we pray that God will bless you abundantly, for many and prosperous years, in your service to the peoples of the United Kingdom, Canada and other Realms and Territories, and as the Head of the Commonwealth, entrusted to your leadership.
We are deeply honoured for the fact that Your Majesty is a true friend of the Romanian people, with whom you have a longstanding historical relation, and we fondly thank you for your very valuable diverse activities in supporting the traditions, the culture and the beauty of Romania, including the support given to various projects concerning the spiritual life of our Romanian Orthodox people.
