On hearing the Feb. 17 death of Lidia Stăniloae, daughter of the renowned Romanian Theologian Rev. Dumitru Stăniloae, Patriarch Daniel sent a telegram Friday expressing his deep sympathy to her son, Mr Dumitru Ionescu.
We have learned with deep sadness about the repose of Mrs Lidia Stăniloae, venerable heiress of Rev. Prof. Dumitru Stăniloae, worthy daughter of the Romanian Orthodox Church, distinguished person of culture and erudite writer.
We assure you of our entire compassion in these difficult moments for you and for all those who have known and cherished her.
We entreat the Risen Lord Jesus Christ to rest the soul of Mrs Lidia Stăniloae in the light, the peace and the love of the Most Holy Trinity.
May her memory be eternal from generation to generation!
